My fitness goals.

I put a lot of hard work in during the run up to summer. I spent a lot of time at the gym, I ate well and I started taking supplements to make sure I was getting everything my body needed. I was practicing yoga to work on my flexibility and getting a good 8 hours sleep every night. Then the rain came, and the wind, and then all the foot long hot dogs when I camped the weekend at Leeds festival, and then summer really felt like it was finished, and I saw Christmas things in the shops...

The end result today is that I feel a lot more lethargic that I did before, I have put on a few pounds (although that isn’t something I focus on) and I haven’t been to the gym for over 2 weeks. I don’t have the energy I once had, and the sight of a bag of chips makes me feel queasy. This a clear sign to me that; yes I have enjoyed the past few weeks off a structured healthy lifestyle, but now it’s time to get back onto track, especially with my competitions quickly approaching and University term time due to start in October.

My fitness goals aren’t unachievable. I know I won’t be able to do the splits within a week, I’m not planning on never eating a chocolate bar or a bag of crisps and I won’t be seeing the gym every day. However, alongside more pole, I will ease myself back into healthy food and go to the gym when I can fit it into my days. I won’t sit in front of the TV, I’ll stretch in front of the TV, and maybe I’ll wear those leg weights around the house when I’m doing errands.

My desire to be fit and healthy is mainly due to Pole. I know that the stronger my core is, the easier the moves will be and the better my cardio the easier I will find routines. I can honestly say that if it wasn’t for pole dancing, I probably wouldn’t even be interested in the gym or about achieving a toned body.

So now I’m going to stretch whilst watching Hollyoaks and get a nice packed lunch for tomorrow. Who knows maybe one day I’ll be as toned as Felix Cane....

Take care

xxx
