|Miss Pole Dance Germany 2013|
August 3rd in 2013 will be a special day for German pole dancers – we are proud to announce the fifth official German pole dance championship, organised by Jeannine Wilkerling and Sabrina Pankow and supported by the German Pole Sport Federation.
Since the first Miss Pole Dance Germany contest in 2007, the event went through a steady evolution. In 2011, the contest had gained so much popularity that we took the plunge and relocated it from a club to a classy variety theatre. This year, the show will be even bigger and we chose a sports venue in Frankfurt/Main, the Body Life Fitness Centre, as our new location and partner.
The main hall, where the competition will take place, can hold up to 300 guests. Currently there are about 100 tickets still available. If you would like to visit the competition, please check our website at http://www.miss-poledance-germany.de for information on ticket sales.
Up to 34 contestants will compete against each other and four different titles will be awarded. In addition to the obligatory women's professional and beginner categories, we also have for the second time a men's category with eight qualified participants. For the first time this year, we will launch a dedicated kid’s category for contestants up to 14 years of age, the youngest being 10 years old.
We are especially looking forward to the performances of Natalie Schönberger (19) who won the European Pole Dance Championship in the Netherlands in early 2012, and Anne-Marie Kot (21) who made first place in the amateur category of the 2nd World Pole Cup in Brazil 2012.
But not only the top three of each category will be presented a prize. To encourage and facilitate younger pole talents, the German Pole Sports Federation will also award the “German Youth Flag in Gold”, a special prize of honour for contestants up to 21 years.
Because of the high level of the contestants, our jury will certainly have a hard time in nominating the winners. Therefore we invited some of the most experienced pole artists and trainers from all over the world to ensure a fair, competent and unbiased decision.
Triple world champion Natalia Tatarintseva from Ukraine will be there, Arlene Caffrey from the Emerald Isle, Vanessa Costa from Brazil, Alessandra Marchetti and David Lacagnina from Italy, Joanna Robinson from Northern Ireland, Yuliya Stecher from Switzerland, Olga Strom from the Czech Republic and last but not least, Daniel Rosen from the UK.
Natalia will also entertain us with an amazing opening show. The day after the competition, we will offer workshops with Natalia, Joanna, Arlene, Alessandra and Daniel Rosen.
Apart from the contest itself, thanks to our ample accommodation we have the possibility to offer our visitors the experience of a pole convention. In a second hall, various exhibitors will seize the opportunity to present their programme to pole enthusiasts. Among them are the usual suspects like Platinum Stages - Gold Sponsor, introducing their line-up of dancing poles, and of course Pole2Pole Magazine with John Meredith and Annette Savill (International Exhibitor). Multi-artist Manuel Lunardi from Austria, who is a long-time admirer of the pole dancing scene, will be present with his artwork, and Mr. Mighty Grip himself, Joel Bretan, has promised to honour us with his appearance too. And of course, visitors will have the chance to browse through Jeannine Wilkerling's book Pole Dance and Fitness – Technique Manual.
We would also like to thank our sponsors for their generous support. We were especially excited when Platinum Stages offered to provide one of their Star Stand Alone Stages as a special treat for the winner. But also German pole instructor Andrea Britt from poledance-wiesbaden.de and Cindy Cooijmans from polemovebox.com should be mentioned for their high degree of support.
Due to the rising interest in our competition, we are currently working in conjunction with Mighty Grip to set up a live video stream, which will hopefully be available worldwide. For the convenience of our international viewers, we invited Robbie Valentine from the UK to moderate the show in English language.
We know that there is still a lot of work left to do until August, but we can already see that it's going to be a great show.
Once again we would like to thank all our supporters – we could never make this happen without you!
